Sunday Oct 19, 2025: BARCELONA
- Welcome to Barcelona, a vibrant Mediterranean city celebrated for its unique blend of history, art, and modernity. Known as the 'Paris of Spain,' Barcelona offers a captivating first impression with its bustling streets and architectural marvels.
- Check-in at the hotel begins at 3:00 pm, with the option to store your luggage earlier if needed.
- The evening is free, and dinner is on your own to explore Barcelona’s culinary delights.
Monday Oct 20, 2025: BARCELONA
- Breakfast at the hotel.
- After breakfast we meet at the hotel for the introduction and welcome.
- We begin the day with a panoramic tour of Barcelona, highlighting Gaudí’s breathtaking architecture, the scenic Montjuïc Hill, and the lively Rambla. In the afternoon, we delve into Barcelona’s Jewish history as we explore the historic Call, uncovering stories of Sephardic life and its legacy.
- The evening concludes with a welcome dinner to connect with fellow travelers.
Tuesday Oct 21, 2025: BARCELONA-GIRONA-FIGUERES (Day Excursion)
- Breakfast at the hotel.
- We start the day with a journey by private coach to Girona, home to one of Spain’s best-preserved Jewish Quarters and the cradle of Kabbalah. We enjoy a walking guided tour of the the Girona’s medieval quarter and finish with a visit to today’s Jewish Museum at its heart of the old Call, restored in 1980. This place was the home of the great Kabbalist RaMBaN or Rabbi Moshe Ben Nahman (1194-1270) known in Spanish as Nahmánides or Bonastruc Ça Porta.
- Lunch on your own.
- After lunch, we continue to Figueres for a guided visit of the The Dalí Theatre-Museum, a surreal masterpiece showcasing the works of Salvador Dalí.
- In the evening, we return to Barcelona. Dinner is on your own.
Wednesday Oct 22, 2025: BARCELONA-GRANADA
- Breakfast at the hotel in Barcelona and check out.
- After breakfast, we enjoy a guided visit to the Sagrada Familia, Roman Catholic minor basilica designed by Antoni Gaudí. Begun in 1882 and still unfinished in the first quarter of the 21st century, the Sagrada Família, notable for its tactile organic form, is one of Barcelona's most famous landmarks.
- Lunch on your own.
- We take an afternoon flight to Granada, where Moorish culture and history come alive.
- We arrive in Granada and the day concludes with a group dinner.
Thursday Oct 23, 2025: GRANADA-CORDOBA
- Breakfast at the hotel in Granada
- We begin the day with a guided tour of the Alhambra (اَلْحَمْرَاء – the Red), a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a masterpiece of Moorish architecture, where we explore the Court of the Myrtles, the Hall of the Ambassadors, and the Generalife Gardens, a serene retreat with terraced greenery and fountains.
- Lunch on your own.
- After lunch, we journey to Cordoba by private coach, taking in the scenic landscapes of Andalusia along the way.
- We arrive in Cordoba and dinner is on your own.
Friday Oct 24, 2025: CORDOBA
- Breakfast at the hotel in Cordoba.
- We enjoy a guided tour of the magnificent 8th century Mosque-Cathedral, famous for its 1000 colored pillars of granite, marble, and jasper.
- Lunch on your own.
- After lunch, we continue with the guided tour of Jewish Cordoba, the birthplace of Maimonides (Rambam) First we visit the old Jewish Quarter, including Plaza Tiberias, the Yehuda Halevi Square and the Statue of Maimonides. Then we enter its beautiful medieval Synagogue, built in 1315, and the only one that has survived in this city, finishing our tour in Calleja de las Flores (the alley of the flowers).
- We enjoy a special tour and a Ladino musical performance, as well as a Kabalat Shabbat experience at Casa de Sefarad, followed by group dinner.
Saturday Oct 25, 2025: CORDOBA (Day at leisure)
- Spend the day at your leisure. Options include visiting the Alcazar of Cordoba, the Arab baths or the Al-Andalus Life Museum, located inside the Calahorra Tower by the Roman bridge.
- For those seeking a day trip, Madinat Al-Zahra, a fortified palace-city on the western outskirts of Cordoba, offers a glimpse into a 10th-century fortified palace-city. It served as the capital of the Caliphate of Cordoba and its center of government.
- Alternatively, you can simply stroll through the narrow streets of the center of Cordoba or cross the Roman bridge over the Guadalquivir River, the only entrance to the city in ancient times.
- Lunch and dinner on your own.
- We gather to celebrate Havdalah with those who would like to.
Sunday Oct 26, 2025: CORDOBA-SEVILLE
- Breakfast at the hotel and check-out.
- We head to Seville by private coach. The city, which lies mostly along the right bank of the Guadalquivir River (from the Arabic al wadi al-kvir –the big river-) is shaped by both Renaissance and Arabic influences. Seville was Islamic from 711 until 1248, when King Ferdinand III of Castile conquered it back from the Almohads.
- Arrive in Seville, where we start with a visit to Plaza de España an architectural masterpiece blending Renaissance and Moorish styles.
- Lunch on your own.
- In the afternoon, we enjoy a guided tour to the Alcazar Palace and its impressive gardens. Built by King Pedro I of Castile in the 14th century, -inspired by Granada’s Alhambra- is the oldest royal palace still in use in Europe and has been recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
- We end the evening with an authentic Flamenco show, showcasing the soulful rhythms of Andalusia.
- Dinner on your own.
Monday Oct 27, 2025: SEVILLE
- Breakfast at the hotel.
- We start the day with a guided tour through the narrow lanes of the charming Santa Cruz neighborhood, formerly Seville's Jewish Quarter, once known as La Judería, with its winding alleyways and rare remnants of Jewish life found within the contemporary city.
- Lunch on your own.
- Free afternoon to explore on your own. For those interested, an optional visit to the Great Cathedral, the burial place of Christopher Columbus, considered the third largest church in the world and La Giralda, a former minaret built in the 12th century, can be arranged.
- Group dinner.
Tuesday Oct 28: SEVILLE-MADRID
- Breakfast at the hotel and check-out.
- Morning high speed train (AVE) to Madrid.
- Upon arrival, we embark on a panoramic tour of Madrid, the vibrant capital and largest city of Spain. We discover the city’s unique blend of modern sophistication and historic charm as we explore its grand boulevards, iconic landmarks, and historic neighborhoods.
- Dinner on your own.
Wednesday Oct 29, 2025: MADRID-TOLEDO (Day Excursion)
- Breakfast at the hotel.
- We depart for Toledo by private coach. This city, known as “Jerusalem of the West”, was one of the main centers of Sephardic Jewry in the Middle Ages. Toledo remains much as it was in the 16th century and was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
- We take a guided tour of the city that includes the Jewish Quarter, the Samuel Halevi Abulafia Synagogue, which was turned into a church known as Nuestra Señora del Transito, the Sephardic Museum and Santa Maria La Blanca (formerly the Grand Synagogue and later transformed into a church).
- Lunch on your own.
- Free afternoon to explore the city. You can visit El Greco’s Museum, that used to be the home of Don Shmuel Halevi Abulafia, the wealthy treasurer to king Pedro I of Castile.
- We return to Madrid and enjoy a farewell group dinner.
Thursday Oct 30, 2025: MADRID
- Breakfast at the hotel and check out.
- Optional transfer to airport/train station to fly back home or to continue your journey.
